The selected Project Manager will be working in the Retail Tax IT department with systems & applications used in field offices. This includes (but is not limited to) web based applications that provide the field offices with certifications & training, the Tax Research Institute website, Automated Hiring Process (AHP) and other web-based products. Please note these are not technical PM positions, a general knowledge of web-based products is all that is necessary. They will be accountable for project initiation and planning and for overseeing development, testing, implementation and closeout. About the job
The successful candidate will work closely with a team of talented developers to create web-based software applications. A significant portion of the development will be C#/Java-based with a SQL Server back-end. They will be responsible for functional requirements, technical design, coding, and debugging of both applications and database systems. The primary focus is ground-up development of a system which will handle all for a continuing education (CME) system. This is part of a larger initiative to replace an existing association management system (AMS), which handles all aspects of their membership database, continuing education, accreditation, subscriptions, etc. The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the Lead Software Architect, and will be doing C# .NET development to construct a system that allows the client to accredit educational activities, allow members to report education credits, report on CME data, and develop a system which would allow the company to better target individuals for particular educational activities based on their historical data and recorded interests. This particular project has an estimated development life span of 2 years & other projects would be assigned upon the completion of the CME system.

What you will bring to the table
Candidates MUST possess a 4 year college degree in either Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least 2 years directly-related work experience in ASP.NET & C# & SQL Server with a working knowledge of relational databases and object-oriented design. An added benefit would be someone who has some experience in the Linux or Unix operating system and who understands the basic functionality of a web server. The .NET work we are doing is obviously targeted for an IIS web server, but much of our existing web applications are powered by Apache web servers on Linux. About the Assignment
